Stüssy California's Original Surf Brand
Stüssy is a Californian skate/surf brand with an origin story in keeping with the brand’s laidback, free-spirited identity from its founder Shawn Stüssy, where he stumbled into his business when he started out placing his distinctive signature onto his handmade surf boards in the early 1980's.
Over the next few years Shawn began placing the Stüssy logo onto T-shirts, caps and other simple pieces, and a small local brand began to build. By the 1990s, the brand had grown to considerable size with a flagship store in New York and business expansions into Europe.
Stüssy’s rapid global expansion influenced a number of young designers to follow in his footsteps; Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment Design has cited Shawn Stüssy as 'the person who inspired him to create his first brand', GOODENOUGH. It is also claimed that numerous streetwear brands such as X-Large and Freshjive were heavily influenced by the style legacy that Stüssy carved out in its early years.
As Stüssy continues to grow, so does its offerings. Coming into the colder seasons Stüssy has just dropped their '24 Winter collection, which you can now find in-store and online, some of the key particulars in this drop are the 'Graffiti LCB' Range, focussing on the Stüssy Graffiti logo and its use of vibrant fabrics.
The release was a strong hitter from the start, offering a range of the 'Graffiti LCB' Hoodies and Crews, available in both gendered size runs, highlights being the Pine colour way in the mens LCB crewneck sweater and the Grape colour way in the LCB mens hoodie. Both sweatshirt options host 100% cotton, resulting in a warm and comfortable wear which also lasts a very long time compared to polyester blends.
Stüssy also showcased its famous 'Graffiti' logo beanies, which we now have in stock, in-store and online. The 'Graffiti Tall' Ribbed range caters for a larger style of wearing, or for those who find it hard to find a true fitting beanie.
You can find the whole selection available now at venuestore.com and in-store located at 5 Kingsway, Launceston.
