NEW ERA - Cleaning Guide
The biggest question in life is "How do I keep my cap looking fresh?".

Whether you're a first time buyer or a life long collecter, we have some official steps and guides on how to keep your New Era cap clean and always looking fresh.
There have been some misguided information floating around the internet involving dishwashers, car washes and showers. Use this as your new guide into keeping your New Era caps looking day one fresh!

Some starter ground rules when it comes to looking after your hat;
Wash your caps weekly if you wear them daily, or monthly if you wear them up to 3 times a week. Or whenever you're after that fresh shine
- DO NOT use harsh chemicals or detergents when cleaning, as this WILL damage and discolour your cap
- DO NOT iron or apply intense heat (such as a steamer) to the patches or embroidery of the cap, as this will destory logos and disform the cap
Now we have those ground rules out of the way, heres two seperate guides into keeping your hat clean.

Option One (Recommended):
Go out and purchase a 'New Era Cap Cleaning Kit' (Either from VENUE or New Era)
- Use the Cap Brush (Included in the kit), remove all dust and lint from the crown and visor.
- Wet your headwear under warm running water and apply New Era's 'Freshner' (Included in the kit) generously 7-8 CM away, applying generously to to the inside/outside the sweatband to saturate. Let cap sit for 10-15 minutes. If cleaning a hat made of wool, such as MLB headwear only apply the freshener to the dirty areas.
- Using the soft brush within the 'New Era Cap Cleaning Kit' to gently brush the sweatband, by folding the band forward and scrubbing, removing any stains or marks. Repeat process until sweatband is no longer dirty. You can dip the brush in warm water for polyester caps, or cooler water for wool headwear.
- Air dry away from direct sunlight or heat. Put the cap on every 10 minutes to ensure it does not shrink.
Option Two (If you dont have a 'New Era Cleaning Kit')
Items needed: Water, Sponge, Cloth or Soft Towel
- Use cloth or soft towel to try remove all dust and lint from the crown and visor
- Mix mild detergent and warm water, swirl with soft sponge until soaked.
- Gently clean the sweatband, by folding the band forward and scrubbing with a soft sponge, removing any stains or marks. Repeat process until sweatband is no longer dirty.
- Wipe down sweatband with a dry cloth.
- Pat with cloth and leave hat to air-dry until interior and exterior are both completely free of moisture. Dry away from sun or heat, trying on every 10 minutes to ensure the hat does not shrink.
